100 and a Disco

Yay! My 100th post!
Time for a little 100th post party. Help yourself to the cupcakes. Sorry about all the confetti, it got a little wild for a moment there.
Anyway, on to what I was actually going to talk about (there's fairy bread, too, by the way. Just over there, behind the party pies. Yep, that's right. All sorted?).
Don't you love dances? Or, as they're still known in our backwards town, discos?

(Me: Didn't discos go extincted after the 70's?
Town elder: What! We're out of the 70's! Quick notify Mr.
Sheridan!
Me: Wasn't he like a town founder or something? Either way, he's
dead.
Town elder: Oh my! The town can't cope with such dramatic
change!)

Well, we have Youth Week coming up in April; a nation wide celebration of the youth of the community (that's me, by the way.) And so, as per town tradition, there's going to be a disco!
Of course, the Youth Council, a committee without any power run by the youth of the community, are running Youth Week and trying to organise some other activities (Movie night, LAN Gaming comp. and laser tag!!), but they're just to radical for the Town Elders that run the local council. The disco on the other hand, is something we know.
Unfortunately, I missed the meeting when the disco theme was decided upon. So I'm afraid it's going to be a rather unfortunate disco. The disco theme:

Twilight and Avartar

So... Um...
Well I have a choice of covering myself in body glitter or painting myself blue. This is a hard decision.
So. I can either look like a smurf or Lady Gaga...
This will take some thought.
Screw it. I'm dressing up as Russel from Up.
My brother's old Scout uniform, a sash and a zillion badges. Easy. Of course, Batman, James Bond, Ghostbusters and Darleks may not exactly be Wilderness Explorer badges, but they'll do. As will badges saying Sarcasm Society: like we need your support, my imaginary friend could beat up your imaginary friend and this is not a badge.
So I guess that's the disco taken care of. Sort of... The rest of Youth Week seems like it's going to be gnarly, so bring on April!
And that's all folks. Feel free to take a slice of cake for the road. Don't forget your little goodybag.
P.s. While writing this a had to go answer the phone and on my way back I forgot one of my crutches. No an easy thing to do. Just thought I'd tell you that.

Stranded

Today, my computer has been confiscated so I write this from my iPod. My iPod would have been confiscated too except that I use it to time my physio exercises.
My mum decided to steal and hide my computer because she thinks I spend too much time reading manga and not enough time doing said physio exercises. I blame midday movies, not manga. (But how can she take it on a Thursday and a Friday? That's when the new Naruto, Bleach and One Piece come out! And Skip Beat is due out on the weekend!)
Oh well. I still have my iPod so I do have a way around it but I don't think I'll be getting on Sparklife *bursts out in tears*.
if mum was really into getting me off the Internet she should turn of the modem for the wifi. It's on the ground so I can't reach it without being totally stranded (I can't put any weight on my broken leg so standing back up is not an option. Although my friend has already suggested using a Jack to lift myself off the ground).
But that's where I'm at. I may not yet be stranded on the floor, under a table, trying to reach the modem, but I am stranded, housebound, without my computer. So no manga, no Sparklife and no writing that story I was working on.
I guess the only option is to do my physio and win mum's trust back.

Hell Yeah! Parkway Freaking Drive!!

Wow, that was awesome.
I saw Parkway Drive perform last night and wow.
Despite the WOW performance I have several complaints, most of which include poor etiquette.
1. Poor concert etiquette number one, to the organisers. The concert was supposed to start at 2. The line didn’t start moving until 2:30. We didn’t get in until 3:20. Also, it was raining. I got cold and wet and I have no body fat to keep me warm. And I missed the first band. Listen people. If the concert was set to start at 2, it should start at 2! Seriously!
2. Okay, so number two on my list of complaints has nothing to do with bad etiquette but more to do with my own personal faults. This complaint is the unintentional exploitation of my extreme and totally irrational wrist phobia. Yes I have a fully fledged phobia of wrists; you wanna make something of it? This complaint is based on the fact that when we finally got inside they marked my wrist with an X. In permanent marker! Not only did the feeling of the pen sliding across my wrist make me hyperventilate but having to cope with the scrubbing brush chaffing my wrist afterwards had me on the verge of throwing up. I know, I’m nuts, but that doesn’t mean this doesn’t bother me.
3. Poor concert etiquette number two goes to the moshers. I realise it’s a mosh pit, and everyone wants to get to the front so there’s a lot of pushing, but that does not mean you can start a fight! Everyone’s jumping and head banging and pushing. The mosh is like one massive pulse. Everyone is being pushed. So if someone pushes you, you do not need to push the guy back. Us twig-like people who snap easily would have much more fun if we didn’t need to worry about being hit and could rock out to violent screamo music in peace.
4. My final concern on concert etiquette goes to those who request songs. Okay, so you want to hear your favourite song, I get that, but your favourite song is most likely also the bands crowing achievement, and thus is going to be the song they save for the encore. So quit screaming for Romance is Dead after every song, enjoy what you get, and remember to request an encore (although, you know they’ll do it anyway).
So that’s my list of complaints. For some reason I’m convinced you’re there laughing at me right now but I had to make my point. Still, despite all these complaints, I had an awesome time and it was totally worth waiting over an hour in the rain.

Outrageous, absurd, unbelievable, dream-destroying

Macdonalds cheeseburger now cost $2.10.
This is outrageous.
I refuse to pay that extra 10 cents on my cheeseburger.
If the $2 macdonalds cheeseburger has gone up in price how can we believe in anything else in this world.
Where is the trust? We loyally go to MacDonalds to get our burgers and they raise the price of the one product I believed would stay constant.
I can't believe this.
-
While talking about Macca's, yesterday was my last shift working there.
Yay!!
If you are jumping to conclusions and assuming I quit based on the cheeseburger then you are wasting your energy. The two instances are not related, but if I had not already quite then I am sure the cheeseburger would have pushed me over.
-
Although I must say, I am happy to see the humble soft serve cone back to 30 cents.
